- Bone marrow is a substance found inside the
- cavity of bones. In early life it produces
- red blood cells but later on fat accumulate
- and its colour changes from red to yellow.
- Bone marrow may be transplanted in the
- treatment of some diseases, such as
- leukaemia, using immunosuppressive drugs in
- the recipient to prevent rejection.
